“I wanted to apply my knowledge of well-being especially in Dlog. Well-being has two components, hedonic and eudaimonic (see works by Ryff). The hedonic side is the fun side, relaxation, and life satisfaction or happiness. Eudaimonia is where we get aspects of life managed, derived from the work of Aristotle in the end, things like sense of purpose and mastery of your environment, healthy relationships, autonomy, personal growth, self acceptance; all of these elements contribute to the functional side of well-being. Journalling is often included as a requirement in Masters level courses. What we tend to find is that those who are successful especially as entrepreneurs, when they experience emotional turmoil they initially suppress the emotion and then reframe it (see De Cock et al., 2020 – “Surviving the emotional rollercoaster called entrepreneurship: The role of emotion regulation”), and this can be accomplished through journalling and enhanced by AI. Other innovations, such as the project manager in Dlog help us think through tasks and make progress towards goals and our big missions in life. Working on both the functional eudaimonia and deriving healthy hedonic well-being.”
Dr de Borst also is known as Li Tchaikov, the psuedonym for his science fiction / fantasy novel “Our Lit” available on Amazon.
